I Know You’re Out There.

It is a most trying task explaining my pseudo-anarchist position to those who cannot conceive of a society without a government (or even with limited, defensive governance).

To have them merely consider that other mechanisms exist for directing human behavior, besides top-down commands. Mechanisms which might actually be more effective, because they play right into our natures as human beings…

Those who unquestioningly accept paternalistic and coercive governmental regulation of (detrimental) behavior, especially when the intention is entirely noble…

Understandably, it took me a couple of years of reading and conversation and debate to achieve the ideological position I hold now. And it’s hard to cover that much ground in one brief exchange with someone who hasn’t been there and done that.
